Your work has taught me that convention is a sham and if you're not you, you're nobody. and i need art in my house.

I'm working on it... you & (your work?.. work much? ).. ha.. just kidding.. your life is your work... in music art poetry & the people you have influenced over time... You may have not realized .. how much of an influence you were & still are to me.. It's amazing ..  I think living in Kenmore & having the opportunity to have you as a friend.. artist.. a most amazing person in my life.. was one of the best things to happen for me.. keeping you in my thoughts.. has encouraged me to be a most amazing person too.. (PS. .Mary Hartman loves you too... )

Mark's endearing characters represent honesty over pretense and friendship over competition. In our visual age, Freeland offers Positive without sacrificing Turbo-cool.  Most important to me is that I NEED a Freeland piece to light up my otherwise wall-art-less room. My daughter and I are huge fans. Thanks for the opportunity anyway. :)

I would love to win your artwork contest!! You have always been an inspiration to me! When I was living in Buffalo and performing around town, you were the act to live up to. Your moto of "be the best" resonates throughout me. I follow your work and I'm always moved by it to try and create new wonderful things.

Well, when I was just a little guy,  discovering music and hearing the Fems on WZIR and WUWU, (back when FM was still adventurous,)
I remembered thinking it was so cool to hear a song like "Go To A Party" on the radio. Considering that at that time,
it was usually sandwiched in between requests for artists like Zappa, the Jim Carroll Band, and the Tubes, it was a heady
time to be learning about rock and roll. Add to that hearing Electroman on WBNY, when I could get it in on my crappy
little radio, to finally meeting him at his Albright Knox show and getting a signed copy of "Every Night is Different"
at the Artvoice show this June, it's all been wonderful. Some of the other Kenmorons have gone on to greater recognition
nationally, but as a lover of all things Buffalo, Mark is definetly one of the individuals that keeps our vibrant arts and
music community thrumming. We're lucky to still have him.     Hats!
off for a fabulous year.   (Sorry-- that's a lot more than 25 words.)

Mark's work is a seamless blend of a compassionate artist's life and his true love for the absurdity of middle-class entrapments.

I really dug Mark's show (and his fanny-pak) in Buffalo, it was refreshing seeing the artist camp out and actually talk to ppl. Very rad.

Mark is the coolest guy on the planet, bar none. He actually saved my life once, enabling me to get on with my life to the tune of 2 incredible daughters

and the strength to pursue an acting career! Mark is the quintessential Jack-of-all-Trades, as a musician who can play ANY instrument,an amazing artist, now

an author, and my personal favorite, GURU, who dispenses the most killer advice I've ever gotten, about ANY subject!!!

I think I should win the contest because I was there when Mark painted the murals in Mre. Schmitts basement 33 years ago. OR I think I should win a Freeland painting because Johnny Cash is god.

For me, Mark’s work is like a disco ball reflecting the human condition in whatever glorious or sorrowful meaning the observer might attach to it.
